In Jazz Ensemble class, intermediate-advanced level students dive into the world of jazz and improvised music. Together we will study the “Jazz Standards” which are the foundational songs of classic jazz. Playing with other musicians will foster communication and organizational skills as students learn to both lead and listen in a band setting. This class will not only prepare students for collegiate-level music classes but will also equip them for real-world performance scenarios. Students will learn performance etiquette, how to contract their gigs, and how to network with venues and other musicians.

Drums, Bass, Guitar, Piano, Vocal, and Horn players Welcome! Intermediate/Advanced levels only.
